Headed to Galveston to do a little work on the house. As always, I always bring my rods and wade box in the car, but after getting to the house, I decided not to fish. After a few repairs and fixing what I could, I headed back home. Right when I turned on to 61st street, my uncle called and said that he was near the causeway and had been out all morning. All that misery and no fish in the box! So I stopped at the causeway, hopped into his boat and took off. My first (and only) stop was a channel marker that I know holds fish. It sits right next to a small 2ft flat and a shell reef. First cast for me with a plum chartreuse assassin yields a rat red. My uncle then hooked onto a flounder. Within half an hour we had boxed 2 reds and 3 flounders. Unfortunately, I was exhausted so, I told them what to do and then had them take me back to the ramp. I was back home in bed at 2. I'll see what their final tally is.
By the way the open bay was kinda hairy today in his boat. And...it was darned cold.
