Galveston Channel tomorrow.

I will be out in the kayak tomorrow making some drifts looking for some flounder. I will be out there from 7-12 working the outgoing tide. I will post my report as soon as I get home then I will be off to New Braunfels to fish for small mouths with the fly in the comal river.

Well better late then never. Weather.com failed me on the hour-by-hour for Galveston on Friday. I read 5-9mph from 7am-11am then the winds were going to pick up. Well it was way off and it was blowing 19 and gusting 25 out of the north so the seawolf shore line was tore up so I had to go find some shelter from the wind. So I switched from finding flounder to finding reds and specks. I decided to fish the moses lake levee wall around the marsh drains. I didn't get a single bump. So I called it a day around 11.

Other bad news is that I did not get to go to the river. The wife and her friend decided to change our reservations because it was suppose to rain all weekend so I was forced to spend the weekend shopping and walking the river walk at night with the Christmas lights. It is not as colorful any more. They traded out the old strands for new l.e.d.'s and they wrapped the trees instead of draping them. For some reason from a distance the lights looked white but they were the multi colored bulbs. But I did get in a little fishing.... The last time I went down to the river walk during the summer I noticed some massive blue tilapia swimming around in the river so I took a little telescopic rod and went out very early in the morning and tried to find some of those tilapia. Didn't get a bite but it was fun fishing the river walk.
