Took Astros13 on a memorable boat ride this morning, he will remember to bring a rain suit next time I hope. We got to our spot & he looked like a human popsicle, I felt like turning around & taking him back but did not think he was ready to endure the wet ride back. The boat was hard to keep in position with this wind that was suppose to be 15 to 10 mph. The bite started off with nothing for awhile & did not see any signs of bait anywhere. I got a good solid & missed the first hit trying to adjust to the cold, extremely slow reaction time on my part. A few minutes later I felt an ever slight tap as if my lure hit bottom & went ahead & set the hook on a nice 24" trout. Then a few minutes later, Astros13 rod doubles over & I hear the head shake of a trout on the surface. His trout fought good for him pulling his drag, I got the net & look down only to see it come unbuttoned. His heart was broken & that would have been his pb trout. A little while later he hooks another trout, but not as heavy as the last one, this one went 22" which still beat his pb trout. We had a couple of intruders potlick us & the bite stopped after that, Dang dolphins. All & all an enjoyable day on the water despite condition. Congrats Juvy on your pb trout.
