Aug 19th Fishing report

Fishing remains out standing!!!!! Today my party of John, Bill, and Harold put a whooping on them. It wasn't as easy as the dat before and it took way longer to reach limits but we finally got our 3 man limit around 11am. Ended the day catching about 40 keeper Trout between 16 to 20" free lining Shrimp.

Yea, it's been a lot of fun the last 4 days watching my clients whoop up on them. The best day was when I had 15 year old Baily out. Every time she would catch a fish she would start giggling and laughing. I think even Michelle was getting a kick out of her catching Trout. It was funny.

Sorry guys I can't give out spots. I can only give out the pattern and baits I used. The areas I'm fishing right now is a small area and the fish I located are holding very tight to this shell pad. But a lot of the shell pads in East Bay and Galveston Bay are holding fish. just keep moving around until you find the one that is holding Trout. Slicks are a for sure sign there are Trout there. If a shell pads is producing be patient when it slows down. Just because it slows down does not mean they have left. Wait around and most of the time they will go off again. The water is hot, a lot of these fish are holding down low on these deeper water reefs where the water is cooler.

Here is one more tip: you must have good bait! These Trout are wanting good lively shrimp. After about 3 cast and no hits, change the bait. My guys today were fishing there baits way to long. I Know they got tired of me telling them to change there baits but when they put on a fresh lively one they would hook up instantly. 3 to 4 casts and change it out. I'm taking 4 to 5 quarts of Shrimp a day.
