Also for the people out there who think there is only one entrance into halls lake through the left narrow is wrong both of cuts in the entrance are plenty deep enough for a 39 venture with trip 350s to get through there, just sharing and letting people know ive been wading over there a couple times and people will literally drive 10 ft from me and say sorry I had to cut your wade off cause theres only "one way" in.

Yeah, I tried to get up once while in Hall's. Now I just putt to the mouth. Rather spend a little more time doing that than dredging oyster shell and who know what trying to power out.

Chicken out pulled off pad and was having to do the spinner to get out. Water should be higher now to make it. Whats your draft

Thanks guys. I'm running out of Jamaica Beach so with this wind I won't be heading that way any time soon!

Yup there is rich I can't remember the name but it's right past halls bayou or before it, depending on where your coming from. Also there is a public launch right at 2004 and halls bayou opposite from the entrance to the marina.

In Hall's itself, there used to be a huge oak not far from the entrance into Halls Bayou that was in hall's lake itself-I think it floated off years ago. Just like New Bayou, the twists and turns in Halls bayou may leave you with some oyster scars so watch your depth finder-best advice is old advice-"go slow until ya figure it out and save yourself some headache and embarrassment."

As far as the 2 cuts, use north side-south side cut has a reef out front and also south of it that will tear the sheet outta yur bote. KLP's map shows the route pretty good into Halls lake itself-it just isn't correct going from ICW into Chocolate.

Do NOT follow the first part of KLP's red path from the ICW-there is a huge metal obstruction that is just underwater near the ICW. Look at his map pic-see the green channel straight shot almost perpendicular to the ICW that leads into Chocolate-it is a straight shot from the barge running in the ICW in the pic into Chocolate-follow that channel and you'll be ok-there are 2 pvc poles marking that channel (going north, stay to right of them) at alligator pt. I line up with the ICW buoys and those pvc poles and run a straight shot into chocolate; otherwise you may lose a lower unit or worse. Other than the part from the ICW into Chocolate, KLP's map pic is good.
