Update.....my son works in a lab that does testing for environmental/building material hazards. The owner is a Galveston native, A&M graduate in Marine Biology and lifelong fisherman. He thinks the TPW warnings are BS. Glad I kept the fish and I will eat them without concern.

Great fish. If you glow in the dark, you know you ate pass the 8oz. Lord Bless.

Drink more beer or tequila, it will kill the chemicals you get from the fish. Seriously, nice mess of fish you had.

Thanks Root Canal-Originally posted by Root Canal View PostHouston Ship Channel and all contiguous waters north of the Fred Hartman Bridge, State Highway 146 including the San Jacinto River below the Lake Houston dam
Chemicals of Concern Dioxins, Organochlorine pesticides, Polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs)- For all species of fish and blue crabs, adults should limit consumption to no more than one, 8-ounce meal per month.
- Women of childbearing age and children under 12 should not consume any fish or blue crabs from this area.
I was able to find this on the TPW site.....like my son said, kinda like saying a little poison is OK, just not too much too often. Oh well, it's gonna be catch, photo and release for me. I will save my unhealthy pursuits for something better than eating reds. Not sure I could enjoy them now anyway wondering what kind of unpronounceable chemicals I was ingesting. Honestly never really did like cleaning fish after a long day on the water anyway. And, as a bonus, I can lie my ***** off about all the ones we released.
