I use to listen to it back in the 90's and every once in a while now. I like music to get me going in the morning over talk radio. But to me it has gotten kinda of boring for me. Its mostly the same guides day in and day out. I think they ought to bring in some new meat. I do like Mike Williams though, that dude cracks me up LOL.

If you don't like it, don't listen. I agree with buoy about the old slow talking bass guides but everyone can call and every time I have called, I was on the show. It's not just the guides who get put on the air. Hey IMO, he's a badass.

The man has obviously forgotten more about fishing in the last couple days than I will ever know in a lifetime. It doesn't mean that he knows what should or should not be disussed on the air. I too find myself just zoning out to his show at times. Some guides are better guests than others.

Some guide: "Well Mickey, last weekend I took Bob and his two sons out to West Bay. Everyone got a limit. I really put them on the fish. Great times had by all. Say, did you see that funny thing at that local business? Ya, I saw it too."

Capt. Mickey: "Alright Captain Whoever, why don't you give us your info so that folks can get in touch with you if they want to catch fish."

Yup, that was informative. May I have that 10 minutes back? Certainly not all guides are like this. I have heard several that discussed information that helped me catch fish that day, such as technique or how to find a good location. That's good radio.

This thread seems similar to the whole "fishing report" debate. Should we give spots away? Technique? Lures? Anything other than a picture? If I were Capt. Mickey's Producer/PD, I would literally hop on 2cool and this site and just find the most popular threads. Then have Mickey give his take and take callers. "braid vs mono", "favorite color plastics", "essentials of the wading tackle box", etc. When the guides call in to do their thing, make sure they hit on the topic.

    Exactly!!

I'll take fishing knowledge wherever I can get it. Internet? Sure. Radio? You bet. Hobo with a stick and used twine from Home Depot and a stringer of fish over his shoulder? I'd be a fool not to ask a question or two.

Been listening since Stevenson Sr started the show. Sometimes have good usefull info. Somtimes get off fishin and huntin topics and can be boring. An regular hourly recap of whats biting, where on what would be nice. A twice hourly weather update even better. Bob Jr. or Captain Wayne or maybe another host use to do regularly. I think somtimes hosts lose sight that they should be reporters as well as commentators. Still best outdoor show in country.

A hour of corndog and Sneekypete stories would be stellar

Capt Micky has a large following of listeners and many of them are tuned in trying to find the hot spot to be in for the weekend! The topic is where are the fish biting! Some times Ive noticed after the show is over that traffic has picked up in areas that have been talked about on the show,by nature fisherman are somewhat secretive about they're fishing holes! I think he has become aware of this influance and has been avoiding too much conversation about the hottest spots to keep them from being over run! I think he and Capt Benny are doing just fine......as long as they dont spill the beans bout my fishing spots!LOL!
