Friday Late Morning
I finally tasted Speckled trout this afternoon!!!!!!!! They sure were yummy all dressed up and golden brown with beer batter!!!
Mamma decided that she wanted go go to Galveston and get her feet wet. So in my infinite wisdom(or despair which ever you prefer) told her(asked as meekly as possible) I was going to pack some gear in the Jeep and pick up some live skrimps,just to see what happens.
As it turned out it was a pretty good idea. There were about five out there counting myself. I am not sure what you guys call the beach by the old Woodys bar?? Anyway there was a guy chucking top waters and left with a pretty nice stringer.
I was out by the third sand bar they were fairly hungry. I was out about 2 hours and left with 4 nice yummy trout. Great day for me.
Its nice here every time I go out I learn something new, today I learned 2, 1st dont go wading with swimming trunk they will give you rashes!!!(OUCH) 2nd and most importantly I need to take my bait carrier out with to save on the trips to the Jeep!
As a California surfer I must say the "STOKE" was pretty good today!!!
