Since my ex-wife works for the IRS, yes, shut the GD Gummint down, stop the pay to Congress and stop welfare payments and keep it shut down until 2012!! Farge Obummer and his GD idjits and the farging Dummycrats that want to spend, spend and spend until we are nothing but starving folks that work 40-60 hours a week so some focking gummint employee gets a pension and retirement and doesn't pay social focking security taxes (like my POS ex-wife). **** them all.

Yep! I got called this morning that my project and presentation meeting was still on for Tuesday. Getting right back into business!

I would hate to see people losing their jobs or taking an unpaid vacation, but the fact of the matter is that our government and its power and spending is completely out of control. But people keep wanting more from the govt. Along with that comes invasions of personal rights, out of control spending, out of control bureaucracy, and the red tape that goes with it. We're heading down the completely wrong road. You'll notice that even if we had a shut down, Congress would still get paid, and the price of govt. would continue to RISE. Insanity.

Aw hale, the Guv'Mint is back open, saved at the last hour by some politicians who quickly started dry humping each other like chimps, so happy they were. But really, nobody wanted a shut-down, just a pot of political power brokering ya know.

As to the Guv'Mint hiring people, I suggest you talk to the tens of thousands who are in the military, are civilians working for the military, are contractors such as for defense systems who built rockets to ammo shields, are into computer systems for national security, and so forth. Sure, a ton of it is bid, subcontracted, and operated by private enterprise (which don't always mean "low cost" like them $200 toilet seats!). But directly or indirectly, the Guv'Mint is a huge employer. The only difference is that when outsources, the Guv'Mint doesn't have to match 7% of social security and pay a portion of the bennies such as health or 401(k). These costs are bid into the prices that Guv'Mint contractors charge, however. For example a P-1 professional position is about $50 an hour in the Guv'Mint, but is about $100 in the private sector (loaded rate, not what the person takes home).

That's why many work in the Guv'Mint to get all trained up and know the industry good, so they can leave and become a high-dollar consultant making twice the money!

Now what happens with you got messed up budgets and "continuing resolutions," all that nice private sector Guv'Mint work comes to a screeching halt.

The only sector that does good is Big Oil, since the military is the largest single customer for fuels in the USA, and is thirsty for its goodies to the tune of many millions of gallons per day. That said, refinery margins are skinny, and there's more rules and disasters than Hogan's got goats. But that's another story ....

my only want is that we get back to things being made in the good ole' USA. We need to get our steel mills back. Not just assembled here, but give the usa citizens back to the USA.

the private sector can usually do what ever the need is for less than what the government costs us and do a better job at it. And gets people off the government dole. And always make a profit. Too many people work for the government and rely on the government to give them what they think they are owed.
