If you want to try seed starting (indoors under grow lights) the time is now. Plants that grow above the ground, (maters, peppers) it is best to plant when the moon is waxing, Plants that grow below the ground (carrots, turnips) it is best to plant when the moon is waning. Last year, I charted seed starting dates with the seed company recommendations of last frost, TAMU's recommendations & Farmers Almanac, they all fell at the same time,, 1st New Moon after Christmas (for SE Texas) Happy Gardening Y'all.
FYI - A very good source of both peppers & Maters is tomato growers dot com.

I had a sorry fall for tomatoes as well. Frost got the rest of mine the other day. On the other hand my winter veggies are doing good!

Tomatoes are FINALLY starting to ripen in numbers. I was able to protect them by using light bulbs
and covering with old bed sheets. 3 plants ( Early Girl ).
Maters are tennis ball size and smaller.
The plant in the background isn't doing as well as the first two.

This is my first time to try growing tomatoes in the fall season.
They just started to ripen. Hope it doesn't freeze. I have been nursing them since late August.
Three Eary girl plants that are 7 feet tall.
I am sure several of you guys have a much nicer garden.
