Yeah we're surely the big tent party. Takes all kinds to win the presidency. Abe Lincoln was a great republican, wish I could say the same for bush.

When people disagree, they disagree. Disagreement can be a good thing. It means we're THINKING.

You forgot to capitalize God. Well, that's understandable. Most atheists are from your side.

It's the Indivisible they added just for us Southerners that burns me. We are NOT indivisible. Nothing in the Constitution says so. Abraham Lincoln only "proved" indivisibility through brute force. Doesn't mean he was right.

Looks like bi-partisanship is just an old fable of days gone by. One nation under god doesn't have much credence, anymore.

Well, just reading that in my post fishing beer induced state, it looks like I was correct. Bi-partisan support for the 2007 law. Now they're considering canning it is great news. I'll volunteer to take a razor blade and scrape off every E-10 sticker from every pump in Angleton if this happens. Funny how the oil companies are allying with environmental groups to fight this. I have to wonder why a large sportsman group, like CCA hasn't done something on our behalf fighting ethanol on Capitol Hill.

Now, let's get to the next issue: Give us back our incandescent, USA made, not filled with mercury, 75 watt and over light bulbs you BASTARDS!

    Agri-business lobby, pure and simple.
Even the "greens" know it's bad fuel and requires intensive farming to produce. Obviously the coastal areas are against it and now the petroleum industry would like to eliminate it as well.
    Follow the money.

Sorry Mike, I need to be moderated sometimes too. I did try to take the politics out of it, but like I said, it's a politicised (Yes, I prefer the British spelling) issue and it's tough to separate them.

I would like to hear, without ranting (heaven knows we've seen enough of that from both sides), from the left who they blame for ethanol. No healthcare, Fast and Furious, or any other of that crap. Let's have a real and civil discussion on the ethanol issue that affects all of us.

I maintain that it's a bi-partisan, sectional effort by the corn states (mostly mid-west) to promote ethanol as a viable and "green" fuel. I also maintain that it is neither viable, nor green.

    What say the blue members?

We already are hearing almost direct quotes of Karl Marx, Vladimir Lenin and Joseph Geobbels from Obama with his comments regarding the "Rich" and "Big Corporations" where he portrays them as "Evil" and basically immoral as a rapist-sadly some folks hear his tripe and spew it-SEEMS THOSE FOLKS FORGET HOW AMERICA WAS BUILT AND FOLLOW THE PROPAGANDA OF MARXISM AND COMMUNISM AND THEY ARE TRULY UNAMERICAN-LIKE OBAMA. I pray that this ObamaCare blows up even more and results in repeal as well as opening up the closed minds of the Sheeple that believe Obama and the socialism goes away in the next election and we proceed with the old adage of "You deserve what you work hard for and earn and do not live off other people's hard work" which was the American Way until 2008.

The Ethanol mess has been fought by the API and is still being fought by them. So far the Obama Courts have ruled against the API and Congress has more interest in taking Corn Lobbyist Money than worrying about the effects of bad fuel on combustion engines-and as Sandy pointed out, it is inefficient as a fuel source-it decreases MPG and also increases the cost of food for the poor as well as the cost of corn whiskey.

It doesn't take much smarts to figure that its what the "people" want and not the administration. Because corporations are people too. Thanks citizens united!

OK now throw all the politics you want at it - it's in the right place. Curmudgeon, I'm sorry I had to edit your post but it was clearly against forum rules and somewhat unlike you. However, somewhat in your defense -- I did say at the beginning of the thread to keep the politics in the political forum and everyone seemed to ignore me except you - including Sandy!! :P
I'll refer everyone to the rules atop the political forum ONCE AGAIN. Call politicians anything you want but when things get out of hand between members I'll take the thread down.

Now carry on because this is definitely getting interesting..

Politics plain and simple. I could say more but the moderators told us not to involve politics here.
I don't think you'd really appreciate what I'd say because it is the truth..

Ah, hydrogen is the perfect fuel. But it sure does take a lot of energy to isolate it. Remember we're looking for efficiency. Hydrogen also brings with it safety concerns. Would you ride around in a car with a full hydrogen cell through the whack jobs in Houston traffic?

I agree with keeping politics where it belongs. The problem with that is issues like this, in which politics plays a huge part, are causing problems with our fishing and boating . . . . and our lawnmowers, weedeaters, generators, etc. How can we completely remove politics from a politicised issue? It's a conundrum I don't think we will ever be able to solve.

I think we can all agree that the dad gum EPA and their political handlers need to stick it where the sun don't shine and let us start putting the proper fuel in our machines again. Sorry I brought up Gore. Debate him elsewhere please, like on the surface of the sun.
