Where to get decent plywood for redecking?

I have abandoned the redecking project after stripping the floor out all the way. I found a different hull to use that I like a lot better. I did make my way over to Kemah Hardware and I gotta agree they are great. They suggested I use what I think they called AC plywood. It looks 1000 times better then the shite they sell at home depot and was about 1/2 the price of the marine stuff. Just thought I'd post it up for anyone searching in the future.

I'm sorry i have nothing to add when i read the thread i thought this was a post about rednecking.

Pressure treated plywood will work just fine for your project. Just make sure it is dry before you put it in place. Resin and glass will stick to it very well. I don't think OSB is a good way to go, and marine plywood is too expensive, imo.

OK I thought pressure treated was the way to go. I'll head over to Kemah this weekend and see how painful the marine stuff is. It is a glass boat but thanks for the heads up on cheap aluminum, it'll come in handy for other projects.

I buy all my lumber from Ace Hardware and Lumber in Pearland. They are very helpful.

Gator is correct its about the glue they use & treated wood wont glass as well and if its a glass boat you wouldn't go back with aluminum because your floor is a stressed part of the boat and aluninum wouldnt hold the fiberglass anyway!San leon marine had regular old style glass and resin at pretty good prices also gelcoat!

You don't want to use treated plywood. You want to use marine plywood and it can be purchased at Kemah hardwareOriginally posted by Overkiller View PostI borrowed a truck today to pick up some plywood for my redecking project and the selection at Home Depot in Alvin was horrible. I left empty handed. Even for Home Depot it was bad. The 1/2" pressure treated was moldy and mostly voids and knots. The 3/4" was better but I didn't want to add the extra weight unnecessarily. Does anyone know of a good lumber yard I can get some good 1/2" pressure treated plywood from? Also just because I don't know any better why can't I just use some cheap OSB? Since it'll be coated in resin does it matter? I don't mind spending the extra bucks to do it right but honestly my primitive caveman brain can't see the difference once it's glassed in.
or Kilgores in League City. If you have a good lumber yard in your area they can probably order it if they don't have it in stock.
